What Do Women (Footballers) Want? is a five-screen film documentary installation by artist Suzanne Lacy, presented at Aviva Studios as part of Manchester International Festival 2025. The work amplifies the experiences and voices of women in football, featuring Vivianne Miedema and Ali Riley.
We were commissioned to design and animate title cards, typographic overlays, and social content.
Title card.
The title card acts as the project’s anchor.
Revealed through women’s eyes, designed to support the voices at the heart of the piece.
Type overlays.
As part of the installation, we created sixteen custom text animations, each responding to a question posed in the film. Minimal yet high-impact, these moments punctuate the five-screen film and invite reflection.
At intervals, a player’s question appears in stark black or against a bold field of colour, cutting through the footage with deliberate clarity.
